Jacob J. Harber, age 91, of Yoder, IN passed away on Sunday July 19, 2015 at his residence. Born on June 7, 1924 in Fort Wayne, IN he was the son of Thomas and Agnes (Andorfer) Harber.
Jacob was a lifetime member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and also married his wife Alice Christman there on June 29, 1946.
Jacob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was a Staff Sargeant during WWII. He was also a member of American Legion Post #296.
Jacob was a driver and salesman with Parrot Packing Company for 30 years until his retirement in 1984.
He enjoyed his family, yard work, gardening, and playing cards.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years Alice; 3 children; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held on Saturday August 1, 2015 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Yoder at 11:00 a.m., with calling one hour prior and reciting of the rosary immediately preceding mass.
Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Yoder.
Memorial contributions in Jacob’s memory may be made to Masses at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
