Jack K. Dunifon, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at Coventry Meadows. Born April 13, 1922 in Decatur, he served in the Army Air Corp as First Air Commandos. He served on Fort Wayne City Council for 16 years; State Legislature for 2 years; Allen County Commissioners for 12 years and Allen County Council for 16 years. He was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash award. He was president and owner of Gasoline Equipment, Inc. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Mizpah Shrine, Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge, Fort Wayne Historical Society and American Legion Post 47. He is survived by two sons, Jack K. (Jenny) Dunifon, Jr. and Rich (Diane) Dunifon, both of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Meredith (Phill) Parnin, Martin (Sofia) Dunifon, Chris (Aubrae) Dunifon and Craig (Cecilia) Dunifon; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. in 2000 and parents, Orlie and Gail (Sullivan) Dunifon and brother, Eugene Dunifon. Funeral Service is 2:00 pm Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Rd. Chapel, 6424 Winchester Rd with Deacon James Kitchens officiating. Visitation is 5-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Fort Wayne Historical Society. www.klaehnfahlmeltonfunerals.com
