J. Donald Phillips

J. DONALD PHILLIPS, 81, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born Feb. 21, 1931, in Terre Haute, he was the son of the late Charles and Ellen Phillips. He retired in 1990 as Division Manager of Information Services at Essex Wire after 27 years. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn B.; sons, John (Betsy) Phillips of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mark (Elvira) Phillips of Wimberley, Texas and Michael (Linda) Phillips of Granada Hills, Calif.; daughters, Ellen Griffin of Fort Wayne and Molly (Leonard) Miller of Munster, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and sister, Mary Kay Sweeney of Vista, Calif. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Phillips; and sisters, Margaret Mueller and Dusty Buckley. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, with calling one hour prior. Monsignor John Kuzmich officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with a Vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Private entombment in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Matthew 25 or St. Mary's Soup Kitchen.
