OBITUARY
Harlan J Miller
8 July, 1921 – 14 October, 2013
Harlan J. Miller, Jr., 92, died Monday, October 14, 2013 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born July 8, 1921 in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of Reverend Harlan J. Miller, Sr. and Fannie Stauffer Miller. He was graduated from Wittenberg University in 1943 after which he served in the U.S. Navy and was a participant in the D-Day landings at Normandy, France.
He was an insurance agent/owner of Miller Insurance Agency from 1946 until his retirement in 1997.
Memberships include Trinity English Lutheran Church, Summit City Masonic Lodge, Shrine, Scottish Rite and Downtown Optimist Club. His wife of 57 years, Carol Trenary Miller, preceded him in death in August , 2002. He was also preceded in death by his son, David H. Miller, September, 2009. He is survived by four children and one daughter-in-law: Barb Young-Miller, Reed P. (Susie), Scott A., all of Fort Wayne, Keith W. (Elaine) of Muncie, and Christine C. (John) Hennessey of Carmel, Indiana. Additionally, 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren remain.
Burial will be in Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, Ohio.
Memorial service is 2:30 P.M. Saturday, November 16 at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St. with calling at 1:00 P.M.
Memorial donations may be given to Trinity English Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
