Gerald Scott Harvey, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born on May 27, 1931, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Walter Smith and Anna (Giant) Harvey. A graduate of North Side High School, Gerald proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War for three years and was employed with Norfolk & Southern R.R. for over 43 years, from which he retired. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, firing at ranges, and playing cards. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharon (Keintz) Harvey of Fort Wayne; daughter, Lori (Michael) Hough of Fort Wayne; sons, Gregory Harvey and Jeffrey (Kandi) Harvey, both of Fort Wayne.; four grandchildren, Aaron (Melanie) Harvey, Bradley (Amanda) Harvey, Jackie Harvey, and Katherine (Justin) Clark; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn McDaniel of Bellevue, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Glenn C. Harvey; and brother-in-law, Robert McDaniel. Funeral Service will be 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Allen County S.P.C.A. or the Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.
