Gerald Wayne Fell, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, due to natural causes, surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 6, 1939, on Grampy Notestine's farm in Fort Wayne, he was a son of Ora and Gara Notestine Fell. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1958. Jerry married his beloved wife, Sue Collins, on April 9, 1960 at United Methodist Church in Decatur, Ind. He retired from Slater Steel after 38 years of service in 2002. Jerry enjoyed cruising in his 1957' Chevy and attending car shows. He was an avid Indiana University basketball fan, and watched every game, "GO IU"! Jerry loved the Lord Jesus Christ and shared his faith with many. His quick wit, gentle ways, and happy smile will be missed by all. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 61 years, Sue Fell; two daughters, Beverly (Ted) Steinbach and Rhonda Rybolt; a son, Gerald (Pam) Fell Jr.; grandchildren, Ryan Steinbach, Renee Steinbach, Andrew Rybolt, and Cassidy Rybolt; brother, Kenneth Fell; many nieces, nephews and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Ora Fell; mother, Gara Notestine Fell; sisters, Marcella Rupert and Janet Roeger; and brothers, Louise Fell and Bernerd John Fell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to "Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry."
