Gary Ray White

Gary Ray White, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023. He was born April 17, 1932 in Fort Wayne, son of the late Clayton T. and Pearl A. (Dunn) White. Gary was a Central High School graduate, a Navy Veteran and retired from Zollner Piston after 33 years, followed by enjoying 40 years of retirement. He was a 48 year member of American Legion #499. He enjoyed many pastimes, including fishing, camping, traveling, and hunting. Gary was a very active and faithful member of Waynedale Baptist Church, serving others in the church and the community. He is survived by daughters, Lana (Gary) Brautzsch of Fort Wayne, Cynthia "Cindi" Riddle of Fort Wayne, and Laura Faucett of Columbia City; six grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Wyss; and companion of eight years, Charlene Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Barbara J. (Long) White in 2014; brother, James C. White; and sons-in-law, Wm. Joe Riddle and Brandon Faucett. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Waynedale Baptist Church, 633 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation for Gary will also be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Contributions in Gary's memory may be made to Waynedale Baptist Church or American Legion #47.
