Fred J. Leach

Fred J. Leach, 71, passed away on February 13, 2023 surrounded by his family at Parkview Parkview Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was the son of the late Leo E. And Ramona S. Leach. Fred attended Ball State University and he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He worked in the tire business for almost 40 years. After retirement Fred worked as a part-time school bus driver for FWCS and Timothy Johnson Academy. He thoroughly enjoyed “oldies” music and would not listen to any other genre. He was a WWII history buff, was interested in anything aeronautical, enjoyed everything to do with boats or being around a lake and he would retire to the family room anytime NASCAR was racing. Fred also loved gardening, cruising and traveling in Michigan but especially traveling in the Upper Peninsula. Fred is survived by his wife Kathy, daughter Jamie (Kevin) Howard, siblings Mike (Lorraine) and Julie (Don) Cox, three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. and loving dogs Jack and Sam. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law and a great nephew. A memorial service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday February 20th at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 N. Wells Street, with visitation from 4-6. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; Blackhawk Ministries, Hope for Animals or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
