Florence Isaacs

FLORENCE ISAACS, 91, passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, surrounded by loved ones and loving care at Parkview Hospice in Fort Wayne, Ind. Born Oct. 12, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy Knight. Florence attended a secretarial school, where she was known for her skills with grammar and shorthand. She worked at General Electric before starting her own family with her husband, John. They went on to have nine children together. Florence was devoted to God and her family and treasured the gift of music. She shared this gift her entire life, singing and playing organ and piano for her church, her family, local choral groups, and fellow residents at Georgetown Place. She enjoyed reading and playing games, especially scrabble and euchre. She appreciated a good sense of humor. Florence cherished spending time with her large family and she felt blessed to have so many loved ones in her life. Florence is survived and remembered by her sons, James (Amelia) Isaacs, John (Betty) Isaacs, Thomas (Robin) Isaacs, Daniel (Christine) Isaacs, and David (Karen) Isaacs; her daughters, Elizabeth (Brian) Burke, Joan Isaacs, and Sara (Dan) Isaacs White; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Richard Knight; and a large and loving extended family. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Isaacs; her son, Timothy Isaacs; four brothers and three sisters. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne (IN 46825), with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Dec. 20, 2018, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, Ind., with a Rosary service at 3:30 p.m. Burial in the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Ind.
