Erwin P. Mueller

Erwin P. Mueller, 92, beloved husband and father, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020. He was born on January 15, 1928 in Normal, IL, the son of the late Fred and Johanna Mueller. He graduated from Heyworth, IL High School and Worsham College of Mortuary Science. He married Marjorie Densow at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Algoma, WI on September 24, 1949 and served with the U.S. Army in Korea during the war. After his military service, he elected to leave mortuary science for Federal Service with the U.S. Postal Service and was subsequently appointed U.S. Postal Inspector serving in several Midwestern states for 32 years until his retirement. He was later employed by the Allen County Prosecutor for a period of seven years. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 47, National Association of Retired Postal Inspectors, and National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by both sisters, Helen Toepke and Gertrude Jacobs. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, three daughters Jane (Robert) Dannhausen, Fort Wayne, Jennifer (Michael) Aspy, Carmel, IN and Jill Hawley, Sarasota, FL and three grandchildren, Chris Dannhausen, Madeline (Paul) Schiffman, and Sydney Hawley. Funeral service is 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 5th, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
