Ernestine Moore, 78, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Ernestine was born on April 4, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan, a daughter of the late Ernest and Odessa (Franklin) Roper. She worked at General Motors, Fisher Body, and in the home caring for her family. Her family and her faith were extremely important to her. She proudly belonged to the Islamic Community in Fort Wayne. Having a clean and nice smelling home were also important to her. Hosting family gatherings and listen to music were some of her enjoyments. Surviving include her children, Dewayne Roper, Wayne Roper, Kellie Roper, and Christy Chaney; grandchildren, Shatara Roper, Talon Roper, Christopher Gray, Jannat Verser, Saaleha Roper, Leanna Davis, Saion Thomas, Marsalis Chaney, Maiwan Thomas, Maia Olivarez, Airion Chaney, and Nasir Thomas; sister, Janette Cox; brother, Eesa Abdul-Hakim; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, Ernestine joins her three angel grandchildren; and siblings, Sharon Kay Roper, Stanley Roper, Shireef Abdul-Hasan, and Jackie Roper. In keeping with her faith, a religious prayers service for Ernestine will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 1:30 pm at the Burmese Muslim Education and Community Center (BMECC) - Masjid Noor ul-Islam, 2121 Seddlemeyer Avenue, Fort Wayne.
