Obituary of Elizabeth L Cole Doty
Elizabeth (Betty) Dulin Doty died Tuesday August 24 but more importantly she had lived a life of love and service made possible by her reliance on God. She was bom 11-27-23 to Walter and Sara Connaher Cole of Beaver, Wisconsin and graduated from the University Of Michigan School Of Nursing in 1945 Her career included both hospital and office nursing where she remained dedicated to the highest principles of service within the profession. Although she worked at Lutheran Hospital and The State Developmental Center Hospital, the majority of her service was in the office of Ft. Wayne gynecologist. Dr. Gah Bowers In the early 1960's he afforded her the opportunity to attend a comprehensive seminar offered by Dr. Papanicolaou where she learned to stain slides for Pap smears which further extended their availability to women of the community. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Michael) Tippmann of Leo and step daughters Patricia (Marshall) Kellermeier of Auburn and Nancy Mix of Ft. Wayne. Nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren brought endless joy and happiness to her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother. Robert Cole. who died Aug. 3,2010; husbands William Dulin and Ross Doty and step daughter. Rebecca Neal. An 11 o'clock Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church where she had been a member for over 60 years. Calling at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home on West Wayne St. will be Wednesday evening between 5-8 PM and one hour before the service at the church- Private burial in Riverside Cemetery. Menominee Michigan. The family would like to thank both staffs of Heritage Park's "Moving Forward" and "The Commons" Assisted Living facility where Elizabeth spent the last year of her life in peace and comfort.
