Dorris "Jane" Hamilton, 93, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Towne House Retirement Community of Fort Wayne. She was born July 17, 1929, to Robert Logan Cullimore and Ella Leora (Payne) Cullimore in Columbia Township of Whitley County, Indiana.
Jane graduated in 1947 from Columbia City High School, where she played basketball and volleyball. She considered herself fortunate to have held two jobs she loved. The first, as payroll and scheduling clerk at Blue Bell in Columbia City. The second, 30 years as Secretary/Treasurer of Hamilton Electric, Inc. Among her many interests were reading, decorating, writing, shopping, quilting, working crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. Jane's most outstanding characteristic was her lively wit.
On July 24, 1948, she was united in marriage to Vernon Edward Hamilton, who passed away in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her 7 siblings.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Beth Ann Hamilton of Cross Plains, Wisconsin, Rebecca Jane Foster of Indianapolis, Indiana, Amy Rene Hamilton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Charles, Peter, Erica, Luke, and David; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may call upon the family at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 19, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Fr. Andrew Walsh will officiate at a service at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Jane's honor to The Carriage House, 3327 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
