Diana Lynne Smith, age 57, of Fort Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Born on August 12, 1965 in Fort Wayne, IN, she was the daughter of William Roberts and Marilyn (Mason) Wettmore. Diana graduated from Northside High School in Fort Wayne and spend many years doing what she loved to do the most, taking care of her growing family. In the last year of her life, she worked in the corporate office at Do It Best Hardware, a job she truly enjoyed. When not working, Diana enjoyed socializing and spending time with her family and friends. She had a wonderful personality that just drew people to her. Always the “social butterfly,” Diana was loved by everyone and one could say that “her only hobby was making new friends.” She was a good cook who could always be counted on to feed the family at gatherings, and will especially be remembered for her cheesy mashed potatoes and other signature dishes. Most of all, Diana loved her children with all her heart and absolutely cherished her three grandchildren. Her profound absence in their lives will be felt every day, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Diana is survived by her daughters, Samantha (Shaun Jamieson) Wright and Sarah (Norbert Bokros) Roach; grandchildren, Kae-lani, Dain, and Ezekiel; parents, William (Patricia) Roberts and Marilyn Wettmore; and sisters, Vicki (Scott) Cooper and Sue (Mick) McElfresh. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Fromm in 2001. A Memorial Service for Diana will be held at a later date. Memorials can be written to the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.mccombandsons.com for Diana’s family.
