David P. "Rocket" "Scoop" Wyatt, 74, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Born on August 25, 1948, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Paul Wyatt, and Doris Elaine Wyatt, who survives.
David worked at Zollner Corp. for 30 years before retiring, and then started a delivery/moving business that he operated for more than 20 years. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Fort Wayne in 1966. David loved driving. His favorite saying was "I'll drive 100 miles for a good sandwich", and was normally with a friend or two. David enjoyed watching all types of sporting events, especially Komet Hockey, softball, baseball, and football. He had MANY friends from all walks of his life, and kept in touch with all of them. In their younger years, Dave and Julie loved to travel, visiting Las Vegas, California, and Hawaii. Once they traveled across the country for four weeks with their two girls in a Pinto Station Wagon, visiting Washington State, Mount Rushmore, Montana, and Colorado. Dave was a loyal, hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who is going to be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is also survived by his wife of over 54 years, Julianne (Hardiek) Wyatt; daughters, Angie (Keith) Kiess, and Amy (Farisi Jackson) Wyatt; grandson, Levi (Rebecca) Kiess; and brothers, Dan Wyatt, Larry (Kim) Wyatt, and Phil (Joni) Wyatt; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor David's legacy will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 19, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with calling one hour prior. A calling will also be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
