David L. "Dave" Vie

David L. "Dave" Vie, 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Dave was born on August 7, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He worked as an air traffic controller at Baer Field Airport, now Fort Wayne International Airport. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol as well as the Quiet Birdman. He enjoyed all things aviation, primarily flying his own plane as well as building model airplanes. Surviving family include his wife, Dianne Vie; children, Felicia (John) Diffendarfer, Abetha (Mike) Dailey, Citabria (Shane) Pulver, Tony (Wendy) Vie, and Rick Vie; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Dave was preceded in passing by his parents; and brothers, Steven and Nick Vie. A gathering of family and friends for Dave will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. A private family service will be held at a later time. Dave's final resting place will be Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
