David O. "Skip" DeWitt

David O. “Skip” DeWitt, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Born on February 14, 1931, in Laud, Indiana, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Mary DeWitt.
Skip retired in 1997 from Fab Weld, after 44 years of service as a plant superintendent, he was a lifetime member of the Eagles #248, the St. Joe Athletic Club, the Old Fort Motorcycle Club, and the American Motorcycle Association, Hog Division.
He is survived by his sons, Randy S. DeWitt, and Terry W. DeWitt, both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Marla K. DeWitt, and Darlene A. Eber, both of Fort Wayne; step-sons, Steven W. Huguenard of Columbia City, Ronald E. Huguenard of Fort Wayne; brother, Leroy L DeWitt; as well as 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley M. DeWitt; son, Kevin M DeWitt; and sister, Edith E DeWitt; brothers, Eldon E. DeWitt, Lloyd M. DeWitt; and great-granddaughter, Corinne Nellie Sauer.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 11, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, on 12:00pm, Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
