Clarence Bauer, 85 of Fort Wayne, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 23, 2020. He was born on October 17, 1934 in Fort Wayne. Clarence was a son of the late Ovid and Beulah (Miller) Bauer. He was a graduate of Huntertown High. Clarence was your avid outdoors man, from gardening, fishing, and hiking the trails. He loved playing sports in his early years and watching in his later life. He especially loved IU basketball and watching as many games as possible. He was a very hard worker and had an amazing work ethic that inspired others. His career in construction included being a master brick mason. The thing he enjoyed most was the time that was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Clarence is survived by his son, Jeff (Beth) Bauer; daughter, Jennifer Ford; grandchildren, Brandon Bauer, Bradley Bauer, Corey (Emily) Ford, Ashley Bauer and Andrew Roth: great grandchildren, Theo and Lyla Ford: sisters, Gertrude Meyer, Evelyn Gilliam, and Agnes (Alan) Huddleston; brothers, Harold and Richard Bauer, and Paul (Sandy) Bauer. Also preceding him in passing was his wife, Judith Bauer; and brothers, John and Donald Bauer. A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals 6810 Old Trail Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809, with visitation beginning at 1pm. Memorial contributions can be made to Sport Wayne, Inc. or Visiting Nurse Hospice.
