Carl F. "Bud" Schanbacher Jr., 91, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Born in Hannibal, Missouri, on August 5, 1931, he was a son of the late Carl F. and Corrinne (Willman) Schanbacher.
He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, and was an engineer by trade.
He is survived by his children, Thomas (Lisa) Schanbacher, of Leo, IN, and Carla (Paul) Barnhill; grandchildren; Ali (Nick) Brand, Mitchell Schanbacher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Dopp) Schanbacher, in 1992; brothers, Richard, William, and Albert Schanbacher.
A funeral service to honor Bud's life and legacy will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 8626 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior, at the church. A calling will also be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. He will be laid to rest at Saint Patrick Cemetery, Hannibal, Missouri, at a later date.
