Brian Phillip Lawhead, 49, of Garrett, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born April 2, 1972 in Auburn, Ind., he was the only son of the late Gilbert Lawhead and Laura (Hensinger) Lawhead, who survives in St. Joe, Ind. A graduate of Garrett High School, he was the owner of Martin’s Tavern in Garrett, Ind., for the past 20 years. An entertainer, he enjoyed socializing with others and had many friends and customers that he loved. A “foodie”, he enjoyed cooking, camping, and listening to music including hard rock and heavy metal. He was a lifelong learner and believed “if you aren’t learning, what’s the point of living”. Brian was a dedicated patriot who loved his country. He was dependable, reserved, frugal, and sarcastic. He loved his children dearly and will be greatly missed by many. Also surviving are his wife, Jennifer Lawhead of Garrett, Ind.; daughter, Devin (Connor Julian) Harpel of Warsaw, Ind.; and son, Brian Phillip Lawhead II of Garrett, Ind. Brian’s Bash will be held from 2:00 to - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 202, at Martin’s Tavern, 115 North Randolph Street, Garrett, Ind.
