Brad Eugene Campbell, 59, left his body of pain and entered heaven’s gates with a new, glorified body on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Brad was born the oldest of two on April 8, 1962 in Muncie, Indiana to Bob and Judy Campbell. As a teen, he played baseball for Wes Del High School, graduating with the Class of 1980. On June 26, 1982 Brad married his high school sweetheart, Karen (Holt) Campbell. He then graduated from Taylor University in 1985, receiving his B.A. in Business Administration.
Brad was the most kind and genuine person one could ever meet. He was a friend to everyone, always willing to help others, and touched many lives. At the heart of his world, he found his delight as a devoted husband to his soulmate, a dedicated and patient father, and a fun-loving, adoring grandfather known as Bop-Bop & Pa to his three precious grandchildren.
Brad was a dedicated and loyal employee of 1st Source Bank for 35 years where he was the Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager. Involvement in his community included being a board member of Homebound Meals and active with Blue Jacket through his work. Brad and Karen were also members of The Chapel in Ft. Wayne. In his downtime, Brad loved mowing the yard, listening to Jimmy Buffet, gardening, watching the Cincinnati Reds and Notre Dame Football. After discovering Aruba with friends, it became their favorite get-away spot.
Brad leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 39 years, Karen (Holt) Campbell; along with their two boys, James Tyler Campbell and Travis (Carly) Campbell, both of Ft. Wayne, IN; former daughter-in-law, Clorisa Campbell; 3 grandchildren, Carson, Makayla, and Mason; parents, Bob and Judy Campbell of Yorktown, IN; sister, Lisa Campbell Fitch (Gary) of Greenwood, IN; numerous other extended family; and a long list of near and dear friends, who are like family.
Preceded in death, he is reunited with his mother-in-law, Janice Sparks; brother-in-law, Ronnie Holt; his maternal grandparents, Helen and William Yeager; and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Bernice Campbell.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 18, 2021 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home – Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Rd, Ft. Wayne, IN 46804 with visitation one hour prior. My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck
Let those winds of time blow over my head
I’d rather die while I’m living than live while I’m dead”
