Annie Louise Stewart

On March 9, 2023, Annie Louise Stewart passed peacefully at the age of 79 and was surrounded
by her friends and family at her side. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Annie was known for her big heart and would willingly help anyone around her.
She was born to the late Irene Palmer and Jessie Lee Hardrix on December 3, 1943, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She graduated from Druid High School and attended Shelton University. She worked at Tokiem for many years. Then following her love of people, she worked at The Indiana School for Feeble-Minded Youth, or State School, until retirement.
Annie Stewart is survived by her sister, Rose Mary Hall; her children; Bobby Ray Vanhorn
(Cynthia), Sarah Stewart, Warren Stewart, and Sharon Johnson; and her stepchildren, Melvin
Underwood, Alphonso Stewart Jr., and her nieces and nephews, Darnell, Jerome, Shirley, Osborne Hardrix, and Chantel Hall; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonso Stewart Sr., stepson, Robert Dixie; her siblings, Jesse L and Jimmy L Hardrix and Mary L Stephens.
A funeral service for Annie will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation an hour prior to service.
Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6600 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
