Obituary of Ann Oetting Klint Johnston
Ann Johnston (Oetting-Klint), age 97, has gone home to her Lord and Savior. She passed away peacefully on March 5, 2018. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on January 21, 1921, Ann was the daughter of the late William and Luetta (Bohnke) Oetting. Ann learned accounting and business through correspondence courses and by attending Business College at night. Later in life, she took several advanced tailoring courses over eight years at Fort Wayne Community Schools. Ann was a life-long member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and could recount its history from its beginnings on Alexander Avenue to its construction on South Anthony Boulevard to today. She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School and New Haven High School. She loved to travel, work in her yard and design her own greeting cards. She loved driving her car and did so until a month before her death. Her brother Erven ( Lois) Oetting survives. Aunt Ann will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her stepchildren: Edward McKinley Johnston, Catherine Ann Davis and Judith Chris Adams of California, their children and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Klint (married 1941-1976) and her second husband, Edward Johnston (married 1988-2008); brothers William, Arthur, Albert and Walter Oetting. A gathering to honor Ann’s life will be on April 18, 2018, at DO McComb’s Pine Valley Funeral Home, 1320 E Dupont Road, with memorial calling from 6-8pm and a prayer service at 7:30pm. Memorials be made to Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis.
