He was a graduate of Indiana University, he was a veteran of the Korean War, and retired Bank Examiner as an employee of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Allen married Kathleen (Davis) Riley on May of 1961. He would often say that it was love at first sight. They lived in Indianapolis from 1961 to 1978 then Lansing, MI until 1991 when they retired in Fort Wayne, IN. Allen was a devout member of Christ’s Church. He and Kathleen attended the North Church of Christ for many years in Fort Wayne, IN. Those who were close to Allen would tell you that the greatest joy of his life was Kathleen and his boys.
Preceded in death by his parents, John Chester and Hilda Riley, brother, Rolland Riley, and wife, Kathleen Riley. He is survived by his three sons, John Riley (Merrill), Richard Riley (Shelly), Roger Riley; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Burnett (Rebekah), Leah Riley, Lauren Riley, Emma Riley, Alex Riley; and two great- grandchildren, Wade Burnett, Lilah Burnett; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 11:00am, Saturday, October 9, 2021, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior to service.
