Agnes "Rooney" Marie Stewart

Agnes "Rooney" Marie Stewart, age 95, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Rooney was born December 26, 1926 in Oakview, Colorado to the late Emily (Hector) Davies and Edward J. Davies. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stewart; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara Hupp (Jim) and Edna Mae "Jackie" Hartless (Palmer).

Rooney graduated from Canon City, Colorado High School and married Howard Stewart, her high school sweetheart, in 1945. In pursuit of a career, they moved to Fort Wayne in 1954. She was a faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church for many years. Rooney enjoyed crafts, traveling in their RV, and spending her winters at Tip O' Texas RV Resort.

Rooney is survived by her daughters, Virginia Cunningham (David) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Sara Geise (David) of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher King, Phillip Geise (Becky), Aaron Geise, Deb Hewes, and Valerie Hall (Chris); great-grandchildren, Caitlin Smith (Josh), Lily Ann King, Jonah Geise, Paige Geise, Heather Davis, Samantha Pickett (Jake), and Taylor Hall; great-great-grandchildren, Waylon Smith, Dylan Davis, Kyle Davis, Hannah Pickett, and Logan Pickett; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A memorial gathering and celebration of Rooney's life will be held later in July, 2022. In a private family ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for Rooney's family may be shared at www.McCombandSons.com.
