Wanda "Sue" Rouse, 80, passed away on November 9, 2024, in Ft. Smith, AR. Born on March 19, 1944, Sue was known for her outgoing personality and radiant smile. She graduated from Van Buren High School and attended Arkansas Tech University.
She married Ronald W. Rouse and together they raised two children. Sue's professional journey was marked by her creative flair and entrepreneurial spirit. She initially worked as an interior designer for Ronald W. Rouse Homebuilders and later worked as a realtor and business owner in Ft. Smith and the surrounding areas.
A devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years, Sue's faith was an integral part of her life.
Sue's greatest joy was cooking, especially known for her chocolate cream pies, which she lovingly prepared for her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Sue is survived by her former husband, Ronald W. Rouse; daughter, Melanie D. Day and son-in-law, Dennis J. Day; son, Mark A. Rouse and daughter-in-law, DeAnna M. Rouse; grandchildren, Emily Day Searing (Christian), Delaney J. Day, Thomas H. Day, John P. Day, Cole A. Rouse, and Connor G. Rouse (Krystal); great-grandchild, Caden T. Searing; and sister, Shirley M. Brewer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Raymond and Edna Jean Battles.
A service to honor Sue's life will be held at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11a.m.
Public viewing will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the funeral home.
