Born October 14, 1939 to Thomas and Vera Scott in Hamburg Arkansas. He was married to his college sweetheart, Paula for 61 years. He graduated from Crossett High School and Ouachita Baptist University. Tom was employed by Douglas Walker Co, and then he took a position as controller at R.A.. Young and Son for many years before becoming owner and operator of Crystal Palace Skating Rink. During the time he mentored, and touched many lives. He also served as Treasurer for the Shriners club for several years. Tom was also an avid fisherman and member of the Wilderness Club, Ouachita Anglers, and a member of the Snakeroot Fishing Club. He was of the Baptist Faith, and a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church.
He is survived by his spouse Paula Sturgeon Scott of Fort Smith, Arkansas. His daughters Lisa Whittenberg (Mark), and Karen Klek (Bob) of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Five grandchildren Jared Chronister (Morganne), Matt Chronister (Katelen), Will Klek, Scott Whittenberg (Amanda), and Laura Skelton (Neal), and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Maurice Jones and his grandson Justin Chronister.
There will be a private family graveside service Monday August 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Public viewing will be Saturday, 12 Noon – 5 PM and Sunday from 8 AM – 5 PM at Edwards Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
