Bob played an important role in my childhood. I grew up 3 blocks from the drive-in. A wonderful place with delicious food, soft serve ice cream delights, sodas of all kinds, and a proprietor who always had a smile and a kind word for every sweaty snot-nosed kid who walked up to the window. Bob had a way with kids. My mom could give a dollar and tell me to go eat dinner at Bob's, and still be able to say, "Bring me the change!" There were some summer days when his indoor dining area was the only air conditioned space for a half mile in any direction. We sought refuge there on many a blistering summer day. Sip a small fountain Coke for a dime, and recharge our batteries. And sometimes, when I didn't have a dime, he would just hand me one over the counter and say, "Don't tell the boss." He won my loyalty for a lifetime and I dined there until he closed it. In my life, I've traveled the continent in search of great onion rings. Each one measured to the standard of the best I ever had at Sunnymede Drive-In. Few came close, and none were better. They must be battered, and not breaded. It's a small detail of life, but one that brings me great pleasure. Bob didn't change our lives in big ways, just in a hundred tiny ways that would stay with us forever. Did I think of him as family? No, he was way cooler than family! He was Bob! And he rocked our hood with nothing but good stuff! Yes, I had a crush on one of his daughters (also awesome), but that's a different story.  Bob deserved all the wonderful things life brought him, his beautiful family, his successful businesses, and his high standing in the community. He worked so hard for it, and his kids inherited that hard work ethic early on. Nothing but love for the Schwartz family, and a celebration of a long amazing life that brought profound and lasting happiness to so many. Thank you, Bob. Thank you. ❤️

I was saddened to learn of Bob's passing.  We served together on the Sebastian County Quorum Court and I have fond memories of working with him. May the Lord comfort his family as they start this new phase of life.

I have fond memories of Bob as my first "boss." During my high school years, 1970-72, I worked at his Sunnymede Drive-In. Bob was always clear about what he expected. He never asked his young employees to do anything he would not do himself. He always treated us with respect and acted with integrity. 
Though I have only seen Bob occasionally over the intervening years, I always felt a familial bond. He was a good man.

I’m so sorry for your loss.   As a child we ate at Bob’s Sunnymede Drive In all of the time.   5 burgers for $1.   Super great place and people.   Prayers for the family.   

I grew up in Sunnymede.   Through the years I dined on many burgers and fries at Bob's Sunnymede Drive In.  Bob was always  there to offer up a great meal and a kind word.  I will cherish the great memories made there.  You will be missed.  RIP Mr. Bob.

My condolences go out to Bob's family, he was a good hearted man who loved to help others.  When I'd see him out and about he'd always smile and give me a firm handshake, remembering who I was and where I grew up. Bob will be missed!
