William Paul Jones, 81, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Monday, January 21, 2019. He was born January 27, 1937 in Vian, Oklahoma to William Jones and Telitha Cashon Jones. Paul was a Navy veteran. After leaving the Navy, he returned home and went to work for Wards Furniture, later know as Desoto Furniture. He then worked at Riverside Furniture until his retirement. Paul had a passion for reading, enjoyed walking and was known to be a trivia expert. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Jenette Brenzovich.
Paul is survived by three sisters, Mary Shackelford (James) of Broken Arrow, OK, Joann Swafford (Tom) of Pocola, OK, and Katie Kerr (Vernon) of Muldrow, OK; one brother, Charlie Jones (Cathey) of Spiro, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial with military honors will follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Visitation and viewing will be Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
