He was born March 20, 1943 to Renato and Irene Wallace Mastropaolo in Cincinnati, Ohio. Michael was an Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam.
Michael thoroughly enjoyed every opportunity to share his faith in the Almighty YHWH and was an avid Bible scholar. He loved teaching science, especially to his grandchildren, and explaining how the Creator had made everything with an intelligent design. He was a teacher of chemistry, science, math, and astronomy. He shared his passion of music, gardening, cooking, and traveling (when he could) with the love of his life, Lucy. He had met Lucy in the Master Gardener's Club after the passing of his first wife, Diane, with whom he had his 4 children. In his early years, he played the cello and guitar, was an amateur spelunker, NRA marksman, and was skilled at woodworking. He was of Italian and Scottish heritage.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Preceding Michael in death are his parents, his first wife Diane McCormick Mastropaolo, and granddaughter Shelby Alkire.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Lucy Tausinger, four children; Leah Todd, Anna Alkire, Aaron Mastropaolo, and Sarah Higginbotham, as well as eleven grandchildren and brother Walter Mastropaolo.
Military honors will be rendered Friday, December 13, 2024 at 1:00pm at Fort Smith National Cemetery with memorial service to follow.
