Max Allen Correll, 74 of Fort Smith, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. He was born on November 14, 1949 in Robinson, Illinois to the late Ralph and Patience Matteson Correll. Max was a retired accountant for Farrell-Cooper Mining Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. In his spare time, Max volunteered for the Reynolds Cancer Support House, and he was also an active volunteer for the Fort Smith Museum of History and the Bonneville House. In addition to his parents, Max is preceded in death by a brother, Jack Correll.
He is survived by his wife Cathy, of the home; his son, Jeff Correll (Tiffany ) of Grandview, Missouri; two sisters, Kitty Vestal (Phil) and Sondra Morris, both of Ripley, Tennessee, and a brother Scott Correll, also of Ripley, Tennessee. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Michael Correll, Christopher Correll, Anthony Correll and Lilly Correll, along with two great grandchildren, Oliver and Theodore Correll.
Public viewing will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday in Roebuck Chapel of the First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the Great Hall or Narthex of the church. Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael, Jeff, Anthony and Christopher Correll, Hank Farrell and Joe Lammel.
Max will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery, 5403 N O St, Arkansas 72904.
