Margaret Louise Hendricks, 91, of Fort Smith, Arkansas went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 15, 2015. Margaret was the daughter of John Tipton and Lyla Alford and was born on December 14, 1923 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was married to the love of her life, Floyd Hendricks of Murfreesboro, AR for 55 years! She was the proud mother of Barbara Layne Armstrong whom she joins in heaven and Judy Layne Allen of Fort Smith. Margaret worked at The Boston Store and retired from AOG. "NaNa" absolutely loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart! She loved to read her bible, knit and sing. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was very involved in the Chapel Sunday School class and sang in the choir for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Hendricks, her brother Jack Alford and sisters Lucille McKee, Ethel Cottum and Jean Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Allen and husband Jim of Fort Smith, AR., Gene Armstrong, widower of Barbara Armstrong, of Pottsville, AR., her grandchildren Robby Flocks and his wife Cananda of Jenks, OK., Margaret Ross and her husband Kevin of Alma, AR., Cathy Armstrong and her husband Alan of Fort Smith, AR., Chris Armstrong of Pottsville, AR., Scott Armstrong and wife Samantha of Clarksville, AR., Melissa Marine and husband Kurt of Fort Smith, AR., James Allen and his wife Tamara of Ohio, Heather Richmond of Texas, and Josh Allen and his fiancé Ashley of Fayetteville, AR. She is survived by her great-grandchildren Reed, Connor, Peyton and Isabella Flocks, Dylan and Abby Ross, Emily and Jessica Dewitt, Erica and Sean Armstrong, Olivia, Natalie and Elizabeth Marine, Tannah and L.J. Allen, Jimmie Allen, and Dillon and Haley Richmond. Her Celebration of Life will be Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. The family will have visitation Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Edwards Funeral Home from 5:30PM-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, her family would ask for a donation to the Backpack for Children program at First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
