Johnny McAlister, 80 of Central City, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020 in his home. He was born January 26, 1940 in Fort Smith to George and Sarah McAlister. He retired from Riverside Furniture where he had worked for 42 years.
He was a member of Central Free Will Baptist Church and had served his community as an ordained Free Will Baptist Deacon since 1971. Johnny was a loving husband, father and grandpa. His four granddaughters were his favorite people in the world.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Central Free Will Baptist Church, with the burial to follow at Mayberry Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
He is survived by his wife Elwanda, of the home; his daughter, Sarah Anderson and her husband John Curtis of Arkoma; his son, Jonathan McAlister of Central City; a brother, Gary McAlister of Sand Springs, OK; four granddaughters, Trinity Alexander, Rieleih, Jayci and Moxxi Anderson.
Pallbearers will be Larry Davis, John Curtis Anderson, David McGuire, Mike Harris, Dean Wilkins and Darell Wilkins.
Public Viewing will be from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
