James was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on October 16, 1950. He proudly served in the US Army. He dedicated his career as a skilled ASE Master Technician for Ryder for 30 years and was also the owner and operator of Transport Repair Service where he displayed unwavering dedication and skill in keeping engines running smoothly. He leaves behind a legacy of expertise in his field.
James had a deep love for life and enjoyed various hobbies, including fishing, being an avid reader, and spending time outdoors. But it was his role as a loving grandfather that truly brought out the twinkle in his eyes. James found immense pride and joy watching his grandkids, Harley and Colt grow, imparting wisdom, and creating cherished memories together. He was their rock, their mentor, and their endless source of laughter.
He is survived by his son Matt Brown and wife Andrea, along with their children Harley and Colt. He is also survived by his son Michael Brown. James is remembered fondly by his brothers Earl Brown and Tom Brown with wife Diane, as well as nephews Chris Brown and his wife Kristen, and niece Karoline. Additionally, he is survived by Ryan Brown with wife Kaitlyn, and nieces Alison Brown and Nikki, along with nephew Cullen. His sisters, Lela Tucker with husband George, nieces Jennifer and Sarah, and nephew Jason Tucker also cherish his memory. Further surviving him is Linda Brown, niece Krisee Marx, husband Bruce, and their children Maurianna Marx, Christian Wallis, Michael Marx, and nephews James and Matthew Brown.
James was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sara Brown, his father James Nailer Brown, his mother Mary Evelyn (Morris) Brown, and his sisters Letha Kay and Leta Fay Brown.
A graveside service to honor James will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 9:00 AM at the U.S. National Cemetery, 522 Garland Avenue, Fort Smith, AR, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and unwavering love will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who were fortunate enough to know him. He may be gone, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones.
