Gladys Louise Cavanaugh, 93 of Fort Smith, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday December 5, 2024. She was born on March 10,1931 in Fort Smith to the late Ted and Mary Otis Walden. Gladys was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Smith. She loved her cats dearly, she also loved working in her garden. Roses were her favorite flower. In addition to her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by a sister, Louise Dority, two brothers, Richard Walden, Robert Walden, and a niece, Tanya Staring.
She is survived by a daughter, Michele Cavanaugh of Fort Smith; two sons, Danny Cavanaugh of Ozark and Jack Cavanaugh of Tulsa; two sisters, Naomi House of Bolivar, MO and Annabelle Rapier of Fort Smith; two brothers, Fred Walden and his wife Ann, of Roseville, CA and J.R. Walden of Oklahoma City.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mark Walden, Robert Walden, Richard Walden, Jerry Walden, Bruce Bontemps and William Neeley.
