He was born on March 22, 1953 in Clarksville, AR to Edmond and Frances (Sprenger) Frala. He graduated from the College of the Ozarks (University of the Ozarks) in Clarksville in 1976. He retired from Arvest Bank in 2021 after 21 years of service. Dennis was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree. He was a member of Master Gardeners and had recently begun volunteering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Fort Smith chapter.
Dennis was a soft-spoken man with quiet ways. He served God, his family, and his community through humble servitude. He did not seek attention or accolades. However, he was secretly dubbed by some of his neighbors as the “mayor of the neighborhood” for the quiet ways he would help out. He loved watching all sports, especially the Razorbacks, even when it was difficult to be a fan. While he dearly loved all of his family, he particularly loved being Geeps to his beloved grandchildren. In his free time, you might find him watching true crime television, reading all types of books, fiction and nonfiction, watering the grass under the maple tree, or completing jigsaw puzzles in the dark of winter.
Dennis is survived by his wife Patty, of the home; his son, Christopher Frala and his wife Jamie, of Fayetteville, AR; a daughter, Sarah Choate and her husband Clif, of Arlington, TX; a sister, Linda Bradley and her husband Gary, of Fort Smith; two brothers, Michael Frala and his wife Linda, of Cedar Crest, NM and Gary Frala and his wife Laura, of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Alia, Lily, Mabel, and Theo Frala, all of Fayetteville, along with several nieces and nephews.
