Catherine L. "Kac" Burford

Catherine L “Kac”. Burford, 88, born August 22, 1923, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. A graduate of Fort Smith High School and Fort Smith Junior College, she was a lifelong resident of Fort Smith except for the 13 years she lived in the Province of Camaguague, Cuba, with her husband Richard running a sugar cane plantation until the Cuban Revolution in 1959. She is a member of Immaculate Conception Church, and was co-owner and operator of Burford Distributing, Inc..

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred H. Limberg and Blanche J. Limberg; Her husband, Richard D. Burford; her son Richard “Ric” D. Burford; and grandson Richard Brent Burford.

Survivors include a brother, Fred H. Limberg, Jr., of Taramac, FL; a son, Charles F. Burford and his wife Linda, of Fort Smith; a daughter, Catherine “Cissie” B. Pendergrass and her husband John Paul, of Charleston; a daughter-in-law Leisha Capterton Burford; three grandchildren Katy Burford Buck and her husband John, of Rogers, Eric Pendergrass and his wife Meighan, of Fort Smith, and Grace Pendergrass Morrison and her husband Christopher, of Niagara Falls, NY; and, one great grandchild, Lily Buck.

A special thank you goes to her caregivers Cathy Howard, Betty Corbett, Robin Lynnwolf, Freda Smelly, Janice Moore, Harriett Griffith, and the staff of Peachtree Hospice.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at Edwards Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be held 2:30p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church and burial at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Eric Pendergrass, John Buck, Chris Morrison, Seth White, Rob Hornung, Benny Clark, B.R. Gattis, Emmett VanCamp and Tommy Denne.
