Bill Nelson, 62 of Fort Smith, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born March 2, 1956 in San Angelo, TX to the late William and Irene Nelson. He was a sales associate for Walmart for 44 years and of the Catholic faith. He loved Razorback basketball and all kinds of sports, particularly fishing and golf. He had many good friends that were important to him, but most important of all was his daughter, Haley. Bill was an organ donor, he always wanted to give back to help others.
Rosary will be said 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel, with the visitation immediately following the rosary. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Haley Nelson of Fort Smith; two sisters, Miriam Twyford of Fayetteville and Ann Carney of Tulsa, three brothers, Steve Nelson and his wife Linda, Sam Nelson and his wife Pam and Mark Nelson, all of Fort Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Mathews, Bill Lamon, Jay Ahlert, Steve Ahlert, Greg Nelson and Jim Hanson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Walters and Ronnie Casanova.
