Barbara "Bobbie" Schnitzer

Barbara “Bobbie” Schnitzer, 90, lifelong resident of Ft. Smith, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 surrounded by her loving sisters. She was born September 26, 1923 to former postmaster Joseph A. Schnitzer and Mary Friga Schnitzer. She was a graduate of St. Scholastica Academy. She retired from the Fort Smith Water Department. Bobbie was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Catholic Church who loved music and shared this love as a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph A. and Mary F. Schnitzer, two sisters; Rosemary Schnitzer and Isabelle J. Hall, two brother-in-laws Mitchell P. Roman and John J. Ratcliff and a niece Betsy Roman.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Monday, August 11, 2014 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.

Bobbie is survived by two sisters Florence “Flodie” Roman of Chicago, IL and Anna M. Ratcliff of Springfield, MO, seven nieces and nephews as well as extended family.

Pallbearers will be David Roman, Mark Ratcliff, Joe Udouj, Joe Ratcliff, and Steve Vicary.
