Algie Nell Smith

Algie Nell Smith 87 of Greenwood went home to be with her Lord Monday, October 23, 2010. She was born July 18, 1923 in Pocola, Oklahoma to Vernon and Betty Shipman. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren for almost 70 years where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She recently became a member of First Assembly of God Church in Greenwood. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was very loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Larry Smith.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years John D. Smith; children John Edward Smith and his wife Pat of Van Buren, Louis Smith of Central City, and Betty Williams of Greenwood; six grandchildren Penny Smith, Tina Biggs, Jonella Graham, Tammy Conrow, Amy Goff, and Lynnetta Penson; 15 great grandchildren Micaylee Graham, Paige Penson, Presley Penson, Justin Goff, Lucas Conrow, and Tyler, Cory, Julian, David, Neshoba, Jade, Dawn, Christopher, Michael, and Samantha.

Pallbearers will be David Graham, Michael Conrow, Travis Penson, Kenneth Goff, Mick Darden, and Matthew Darden.

The body may be viewed Noon to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
