Mom was born in Moose Jaw but spent most of the last 60 years living in Lumsden where, along with her husband Doug, they raised children Doug, Barb and Mark. She worked for many years at the Regina General Hospital and other clinics as a phlebotomist - work she loved.
Mom was a friend to many and continued to make new friends right up until the end at Echo Lodge. Before that, at the Lumsden Park Manor where she lived from 2010 until 2022, she loved her ‘crew’ and had many good years with her pals. She had a quick wit, occasionally a sharp tongue and a wicked sense of humour.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Joe & Agnes Divers; father-in-law and mother-in-law Peter & Margaret Schmidt; brother Jim, husband Doug, and son Doug.
She is survived by her daughter Barb Diederich; son Mark Schmidt (Tannis Hensen); daughter-in-law Karen Street; grandson Matthew Schmidt and his mother Pat Schmidt; granddaughter Carrie-Ann (Tim) Robinson; great-grandchildren Olivia, William, Adam, & Ava; sister-in-law Marg Divers-Freund & family.
Thanks to the care aides, nurses, and staff at Echo Lodge. Mom received excellent care in their hands.
A come-and-go tea honoring Mom's life was held Thursday, October 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Dew Drop In, 275 James St N, Lumsden, SK.
A private interment will be held later in the Lumsden Cemetery.
