It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Kenneth Dean. Kenneth was born on May 31, 1938 and passed peacefully on January 9, 2024 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, SK, at the age of 85 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Katherine Dean; parents Albert and Minnie Dean and sister Noreen Ruhr.
Kenneth will be lovingly remembered by his sisters: Janet Ruhr, Shirley (George) Ruhr, Lucille (Steve) Kulscar and Elaine (Arthur) Michalski; brother Norman (Caroline) Dean and many other family members and friends.
Kenneth was born on a farm near Killaly and at the age of 17 he joined the Canadian Army for a brief period. He then moved back to the Dubuc area where he drove truck for the Slater Company and to later make a home with Katie, whom he married on June 29, 1959 in Regina. Kenneth worked at Luther College in Regina until they retired to their cottage by Mission Lake. Kenneth loved fishing, hunting and the quiet life living by the lake with the love of his life Katie. They enjoyed gardening, bird watching and the many encounters with nature's wildlife.
A funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church in Fort Qu'Appelle, SK by the Very Reverend Dennis Remot. The interment will take place at a later date in the Lakeview Cemetery.
