We are certain that, when entering heaven, Mom rushed into Don’s arms, never to be separated again. They immediately went out to the porch and enjoyed a martini (Pat) and manhattan (Don) and caught up on the past several years while watching the golfers go by. That was, undoubtedly, followed by a family dinner with her mom and daddy (Catherine and Frank Stillwell), her beloved cousins Gerald, Ronnie, Helen Jane, Rita, Jack and all the family members who have gone before her. Don left that dinner early and everyone understood.
Although mom lived all over the country as an adult, her true home was Wilmington, DE. She never met a stranger and loved to catch up with her friends from Ursuline Academy and all the friends she made along the way at the locations DuPont transferred Pat and Don to over the years.
Mom is forever loved and will be missed by her children, Catherine LeVan Gainer (Jack), Robert, John, and David (Nancy) LeVan, grandchildren Mitchel Gainer (Grace Pringle) and Alexa Gainer (Andrew King), and her family and friends who are comforted by the knowledge that she is exactly where she wants to be for eternity.
We are so appreciative of all the love and support our mom has had from Rosemarie Mackey, Linda and John Hart, Steve and Teresa Tierney, Mary Jo Tierney and Mike Wetzel and Annie and Jack Crumbo among many others. They are the true meaning of family.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Bernadette church in Port St. Lucie, FL on October 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Piece, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Bernadette’s building fund in Pat’s name are appreciated.
