John Edward Wiggam (Ed) 88, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2015. Ed was born in Hickman, Kentucky on November 29, 1926. Ed and his family moved to Fort Pierce in 1955. Ed lived a busy and interesting life. Ed served in the US Navy. He owned and operated the old Fort Pierce Pool Hall where City Hall now stands and he worked for the FEC Railroad as a Railroad Engineer for many years. He also worked on the construction of the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plants. Back in the day Ed was an avid jetty fisherman and his nickname at one time was Captain Snook. Ed went to the Ft. Pierce jetty almost every day to look out at the water and talk to friends and folks fishing. Ed also was an active goat rancher for many years.
Ed is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Louise; daughter, Sheree Bangs, of Stuart; son, Terry Wiggam of Fort Pierce, son, Steve Wiggam, of Murrells Inlet, SC; sister, Frances Seacrest, of Gainesville, FL; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 3:00pm at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL.
