Tom & I grew up together in Potterville, Mi. & were immediately drawn together in our love of cycling, which we exploited by riding around Lake Superior in 1972. Our lives led us in different directions, yet we crossed paths at MSU, & in later years when Tom returned from western US working as a geologist. We later enjoyed discussing our separate travels in Alaska, where Tom lived & worked. 
Rest well, Tom- you are, & will be, missed.

As a young man, Tom was in my climbing class at Lansing Community College, Lansing, MI. Tom was fearless and a talented rock climber. We have remained friends with mountains pulling us to explore many places in North America. Tom will be missed by many climbing partners. He has filled our memories with great stories to cherish.
