Therese B. Nadeau, 94, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Brookdale Lakes Park Assisted Living on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She was born on July 30, 1929, in Ham-Nord, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Laura LeHouillier, who shortly thereafter moved their young family to a farmstead in Johnson, VT. She married Roland Nadeau of Johnson on June 30, 1951, and moved to Chicopee, MA where they raised their five children. Therese led an active lifestyle and was involved in church activities her entire adult life. She enjoyed raising her children and working as a teacher’s assistant at St. George Elementary School and as a social worker in Chicopee Ma. She was a member of St. Anne’s Society at St. George School. Therese moved to Ft. Myers FL in 1997 to be close to two of her sons. She was a congregant of Church of the Resurrection in Ft. Myers where she continued her church volunteer work as a Eucharistic Minister, providing weekly communion and attending to the needs of homebound parishioners. Therese is survived by four of her children, Thomas of Ft. Myers Beach, FL, Richard and wife, Kathleen of Chicopee, Ma, Robert and husband, Efrain of Cape Coral, FL, Elaine and husband, Gary Misenheimer, of Concord, NC; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and their spouses and significant others; two brothers, Ronald of Enfield CT, and Paul of Placerville CA.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roland in 1985, her son, Francis in 2022, her brothers, Ernest, Joseph, Edgar, Roger, Raoul, Maurice and Armand, her sisters Rachel and Lillian. Therese’s family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Lakes Park for the love, kindness and care they provided to our mom. They treated her like family. We would also like to thank Hope Hospice for the care they delivered to mom in her last days.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 10:00am at Brookdale Lakes Park Assisted Living, located at 14521 Lakewood Blvd, Ft. Myers, FL, 33919. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. A burial service will be held at a later date in Chicopee MA where she will join her husband, Roland. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the charity of your choice in her honor are appreciated.
