Susan graduated from Ramsey High School where she was very proud to be a cheerleader. She had many treasured friendships from those years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Springfield College where she met the love of her life. She and David married in 1989. They were blessed with three amazing children in 2001, triplets, Emma, Colin and Scott. They were her pride and joy and her greatest accomplishment.
Susan had different careers in her life. Immediately after college, she worked in the retail industry where she rose through the ranks at the Limited and Warner Bros. was extremely successful. When her children were born her only focus was being the best mom she could be. When they went to school she returned to her teaching career. Her passion for nurturing young children drove her toward a position in Early Childhood Education. She was treasured by her Pre-K three students and their families’.
In her life Susan enjoyed, visiting Lyme Park (Pemberley), the Cotswolds, and her family’s hometown of Chester, England. She was passionate about everything Jane Austen. Activities she enjoyed most were reading, walking on the beach in Sanibel, going to the movies, cross stitching and other crafts.
Her favorite moments were when she was with her family and watching them do the things they love most. From the boys playing sports, Emma riding horses and playing piano, and David coaching his many different sports teams. She felt blessed to live near her mom and dad for many years. She was especially grateful for the endless care and support of her dad.
Susan is survived by her husband, David S. Manzi; her children: Emma, Scott and Colin; her father, Jeffrey Green; her sister, Deborah Green (Ed) Sinamark; nephews: Zachary and Fletcher Szabo; brother-in-law, Joe Szabo and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Wright Green, her mother-in-law, Pat McCue, her sister-in-law, Deb Szabo and her nephew, Ryan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Susan’s life by gathering in the Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913 on Monday, August 28th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel at the funeral home at 5:00 pm.
