Robin Lynne Brauning, age 67, of South Fort Myers, passed away on April 23, 2021. Robin was born in Charleston, South Carolina and grew up in Eldersburg, Maryland. She was predeceased by her parents, Emory and Elizabeth “Liz” Lewis and her brother, Brian Lewis.
Robin is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Gregory Brauning, brother, Jeffrey Lewis, daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Brian Godek, son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Kaytie Brauning, and son and daughter-in-law, Devin and Kati Brauning. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Brian, Mackenzie, Ashlyn, Kane, Devin Jr., Benjamin, Bryce, Calvin and Cameron, and many nieces and nephews.
Robin had a number of personal accomplishments such as 1971 graduate of South Carroll High School, Winfield, MD. Valedictorian of LPN School of Nursing at Springfield State Hospital, Sykesville, MD. Careers included bookkeeper/office manager for multiple family businesses, Assistant Install Manager at Home-Tech and Regional Territory Sales Manager for Trane, where she achieved top sales. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother. She loved being involved with her children’s sports and was their biggest spokesperson.
“Mimi” as she was known by her grandchildren (and everyone around her) was a helper and always looked for ways to make her children and their families lives easier. She stood tall and proud and was always there to help or fiercely defend those she loved. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling, swing dancing, snow skiing, golfing, attending her children’s sporting events and family vacations. Most recently, she was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She got the most joy from cruise vacations and gatherings with family and friends.
