I met Mike and Misty at a class we attended early 2013. I loved seeing Mike's FB posts about topics we share interest in, especially gardening and homesteading. Mike was always such a great example of what we need more of in the world! I am so saddened by this news and our hearts go out to you Misty; may God comfort you during this terribly sad time and if you need anything, please do not hesitate to let us know. 

When Mike Davis and my son Jason Willis were growing up as best friends,  they decided they wanted to go to a rock concert by themselves in Ft Myers.  Jim, Mike's dad,  and I both gave them our permission and the concert was on! This would be the first rock concert by themselves without supervision.  They were excited for weeks ahead of the event and talked  about it with such anticipation . Finally,  the big day arrived and off they went to the concert! Well, Mikey and Jason were little guys  and only 11 or 12 years old and crowd-surfing was a new thing at concerts.   So, some older guys in the crowd picked them up over their heads and crowd-surfed them both all the way to the stage! When Jason and Mikey got home from the concert,  they were  so excited. The first thing they talked about was getting crowd-surfed! They were a little scared by being surfed through the packed crowd  but it had made the concert way more fun than they had expected  and even more memorable. Their expectations had been met. It was awesome.  They both grew up a lot that day.  I think it was either a Guns n Roses concert or a  Motley Crue concert (I forget), but it sure was a huge deal for two little boys growing up so fast.

We were so saddened to hear of the passing of Mikey. Please know that we are all thinking of you during this difficult time.  I will never forget all the memories we shared growing up.  He was a wonderful person and will be missed dearly.
