A Time To Be Born:
Merancia Jean was born on September 8, 1930 in Leogane, Haiti. She was the youngest of 3 girls and the only living member of her family.
A Time To Live
Merancia moved to the state in 2000 to be with her daughter Marie Lourdes Michel, and her granddaughters. She was a fervent Christian and a member of Tabernacle of Worship and Praise of Lehigh Acres. Merancia was known to all as “Grandma”. She helped raised all her grandchildren, all her great grandchildren and countless other children from Haiti to the United States. She touched the life of every child, every human being that came in contact with her, either for a minute or a decade. Merancia was kind, gentle, patient, loving, caring, giving and funny. She had a passion for all children, she dedicated her life to pray for them, take care them and to unconditionally love them. Our “grandma will never be forgotten. Her legacy will live forever in our hearts and in the heart of the generations to come. She made an unforgettable mark in our lives and in the world. She was loved and cherished more than words can expressed.
A Time To Die:
The sun set on Merancia Jean on January 11, 2021 at her residence in Lehigh Acres. She took her last breath surrounded by her daughter, her granddaughters, her great grandchildren; shielded with love and peace.

Merancia Jean leaves behind to mourn: A loving family which includes but is not limited to her daughter Marie Lourdes Michel, her son in law Fritzner Michel, her grandchildren: Samantha, Ridgi and John Francois, Lourdemia Michel-Charles, Carline Michel-Clermont, Nadyne Michel-Bernard, Daphny Michel-Angus, Glaroodia Michel-Dominguez, and Thaciana Michel; her grand sons-in-law Love Charles, Joubert Clermont, Elon Bernard, Rene Angus, Christian Dominguez; her great grandchildren, Makayka Michel, Wheenie, Nehemiah, Naheessah, and Noah Clermont, Jaylens and Danyssa Barthelemy, Crystal, Gabriel and Katrina Dominguez, Elyssah and Walter Jr. Francois, Shaniya and Benaiah Latouche; and other family members; Jeannine Cazeau, Fernande Cazeau-Compere, Venita Olivier-Latouche and Roosevelt Latouche,
Merancia Jean “Grandma” also leaves behind a host of devoted friends and families.
